Just left a very interesting and well-balanced session on a variety of neuro-topics. Especially intrigued with the discussions centered on the use of induced hypothermia in TBI. Ronan O’Leary’s very funny talk on conflicts that can emerge between neurointensivists and neurosurgeons was also definitely worth the visit. More to come…..
Finally in Dublin for SMACC 2016. Looking good so far. Excited about the neuro sessions to come. That, and a pint of Guinness or two…

Listen to Per Bredmose and how to use ketamine. We often use it inhospital in the initially treatment of traumapatients: traumatic brain injury and other injuries, often together with titrated doses of diazepam and fentanyl. Be aware of the sympatomimetic effect and hypertensive episodes in patients with Sah/ aneurysms. Link to the podcast.
